Eljan from Nesi

The Eljan frá Nesi was built in Grunnvík in 1942. It was the brothers from Nesi / Naustur, Magnús and Sigurður Elíassynir, who built the boat and owned it for the longest time.

It is built of oak and pine and has a 27 kW Thornycroft diesel engine. Stefán Símonarson, a cousin of the Nesbræðir brothers, acquired the boat after their death together with Vilberg Prebensson. Guðjón Brjánsson and Dýrfinna Torfadóttir later acquired the boat and donated it to the Icelandic Museum in the fall of 2012.
